Aims of the Group

Mapa (Measham, Appleby, Packington & Austrey) HS2 Action Group was established at a public meeting at St Laurence Church, Measham on 13th December 2016.  The meeting was called by a number of concerned local residents and chaired by Sean Sheahan, the County Councillor for Measham.

Over 350 people attended including residents and representatives from all the villages affected.  The meeting voted unanimously to establish an action group to coordinate opposition to the proposed HS2 Measham re-route across the villages.

Activities will include

  • Researching the impact on jobs, residents and the environment of the proposed route
  • Working with Parish Council, local politicians and residents to develop the case
  • Ensuring that the campaign retains a high profile.

The first meeting will be hed on 4th January 2017, 7pm, Measham Leisure Centre.  It will discuss and adopt a formal constitution and appoint office holders.  After this meeting we will publish full contacts here.  In the meantime you can contact us via
